Install as a Permanent Sample Point or Simply Leave in the Ground as a Disposable Point.
Used worldwide for soil gas monitoring of hydrocarbon spills, tank and pipe leakage, and hazardous waste sites. Drive tubes are used to insert the tip to the desired depth and then are removed, leaving fluoropolymer tubing extending out of the ground for a permanent sample point. The unique design of the tip has been machined so that the vapor inlet holes are recessed in the tip and are protected by the drive tubes. Just above the vapor inlet holes is a machined flange. A fluoropolymer umbrella and optional screen can be attached to the GVP tip, just above the flange. The umbrella is folded and inserted prior to installation. When the drive tube is removed the umbrella unfolds, creating a shield and preventing dirt from falling in and around the GVP tip and plugging the vapor inlet holes.
Application of Product
The fluoropolymer tubes are attached to a drive rod and driven into the subsurface by hand or with an AMS slide hammer or electric drill, sold separately. When the desired depth is reached, the drive point is removed, exposing an inlet section with screen and leaving the vapor probe tip imbedded at the desired location and sampling depth. The fluoropolymer vapor rod, running from the tip to the surface, makes continuous sampling a quick and easy process. A vacuum pump is used to draw gas into the probe, through the vapor rod, and to the surface.
If rapid access to sampling points needs to be achieved this is the kit for you.
